Chrome Version 9 is out with more complete integration of it's new app store, and allowing for Google's dream of cloud based / internet applications to come closer to reality. The new app store will also bring a new level of monetization for companies to sell their products.
The apps aren't that much different than a web app like Google Docs. It is however able to make better use of existing technologies (and of new ones as they arrive).
